RR Donnelley is committed to protecting your privacy. We will collect or record basic personal data (e.g., name, e-mail address, postal address, phone number) which you voluntarily provide through the "Information Request" page or through electronic mail which you send to us, but we will not disclose this information to third parties. We also may ask you questions about your buying habits for particular product segments, or ask you to state the total Sterling volume spent on a particular product.
If you are inquiring about employment at RR Donnelley, we may ask for your Social Security number, your educational level, and your desired salary range. In situations where RR Donnelley discloses Business Contact Data to any third parties acting as service providers or "agents" on behalf of RR Donnelley, RR Donnelley will require the recipient to protect such data by way of a data processing agreement. With respect to any sharing of Business Contact Data for purposes of marketing RR Donnelley products and services, RR Donnelley obtains promises from its affiliates, subsidiaries and business partners that such entities will use and disclose such data strictly and only for purposes of marketing RR Donnelley products and services. Individuals may seek to opt-out of disclosure of their Business Contact Data by contacting RR Donnelley.
RR Donnelley takes appropriate technical and organizational measures to safeguard Business Contact Data and data concerning individuals in the European Union who are customers or employees of RR Donnelley's customers ("Customer Data") from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, damage or destruction, and ensures that all such data is maintained pursuant to the Data Protection principles as set out in the Data Protection Act 1998.
RR Donnelley may disclose personal data as strictly necessary in connection with the sale or transfer of all or part of its business, or where required or permitted by law, or where RR Donnelley believes that such disclosures are appropriate in connection with a valid law enforcement request, or as otherwise permitted under the Data Protection Act 1998.
With respect to Customer Data, RR Donnelley operates as a mere data processor for its customers. Its customers remain the data controllers with respect to such data. RR Donnelley therefore acts strictly in accordance with the instructions of such customers regarding the collection, processing and transfer of Customer Data, the provision of access to and rectification of Customer Data, and other matters.
In the USA, RR Donnelley acknowledges the requirements of the European Data Protection Directive (95/46/EC) (the "Directive"). Among other things, the Directive generally restricts the export of Personal Data from the European Economic Area to the United States, unless the US recipient can give "adequate protection" to such Personal Data. Any US company which has signed up to the US Department of Commerce Safe Harbor Program ("Safe Harbor") offers such "adequate protection".
From time to time RR Donnelley may wish to pass Employee Data, Customer Data and Business Contact Data to RR Donnelley in the USA. In the USA RR Donnelley adheres to Safe Harbor. Information regarding RR Donnelley's practices concerning EU Employee Data is provided to affected EU employees through other company policies and procedures.
